Serving Nigerian businesses

Hosting that keeps running after the launch

Nigeria has no shortage of people who can design a website. What many businesses lack is hosting that stays paid, patched and backed up after the designer moves on to the next client. The site launches, the renewal email goes to an address nobody reads, and one morning the domain shows a parking page instead of the business.

We run the part that has to keep working: a control panel with your own login, a backup every day that you can restore yourself, an SSL certificate that renews on its own and mailboxes on your own domain. Renewal reminders come to you, and the invoice can be paid by card from anywhere.

The checkout is Paystack, which started in Lagos, so the payment page will look familiar. Our team works from Nairobi, two hours ahead of Lagos, and answers in English on live chat, email and tickets.

Included on every plan

  • An SSL certificate at no cost, renewed for you
  • NVMe SSD storage behind a LiteSpeed web server
  • The DirectAdmin panel, with WordPress in one click
  • Mailboxes at your own domain name
  • A backup every day, which you can restore without us
  • Your existing site moved across free
  • Uptime tested every minute and shown live on our status page

Developers and agencies

Studios that want DirectAdmin, SSH and room for staging when they host client sites.

Where your site is physically hosted

Our hosting server is not in Kenya: it is in the United Kingdom, and it serves our Kenyan customers too. Help by live chat, email or ticket comes from our Nairobi team, on East Africa Time.

You will not find a made-up latency number here. Instead, our live status page tests our website, the hosting server, mail, the payment gateway and the domain registry once a minute, and keeps the honest record, bad days included.

Good to know in Nigeria

  • West Africa Time, UTC+1: two hours behind Nairobi, so most of your working day overlaps with ours
  • Our team replies in English
  • Visitors on MTN, Airtel and Glo open your site the same way they open any other
  • Covering Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Kano, Enugu and Benin City

Domains for Nigeria

As well as .com, .org and 200+ other extensions, we can register the ones that belong to Nigeria. .com.ng and .ng register at checkout the moment the invoice is paid, the same as .com. Look at the renewal column before you decide, since some extensions cost more to renew than to register.

Extension Register Renew Transfer in
.com.ng KSh 720$5.54/yr KSh 1,080$8.31/yr KSh 1,080$8.31/yr Check
.ng KSh 3,600$27.69/yr KSh 3,600$27.69/yr KSh 3,600$27.69/yr Check

Anyone can register .ng and .com.ng, in Nigeria or outside it, with no documents at registration, although the registry (NiRA) may ask for proof of identity later. .com.ng is meant for businesses.

These figures come straight from our live catalogue, so the price shown is the price charged. Still undecided? Our guide on picking a domain name works just as well beyond Kenya's borders.

How to pay from Nigeria

Ways to pay

  • Visa or Mastercard on Paystack's secure checkout page. From Nigeria this is the usual way to pay, and you need nothing extra to use it. Some Nigerian banks limit naira cards for payments to companies outside Nigeria. If yours is declined, a dollar card often works, or ask us for bank transfer details.
  • Billed in KSh. If dollars are easier to read, the currency switcher in the menu shows US dollar prices. Whatever you view, the charge is in Kenyan shillings, with your bank converting from naira at its own rate.
  • Bank transfer, for yearly invoices or bigger projects. Ask us on live chat and we will send you the details.

What we cannot accept, so checkout holds no surprises

M-Pesa at our checkout means Safaricom M-Pesa in Kenya and nothing else. OPay, PalmPay, Moniepoint, USSD codes and transfers to a Nigerian bank account are not available at checkout. Better that you read it here than find out halfway through paying.

No VAT is added to our prices. Should your accountant need the invoice laid out a certain way for local bookkeeping, tell us and we will issue it in that format.

Switching to SiteBoma from Nigeria

1

Share the details

Let us know who hosts you now, which domain you use and roughly how large the site is. Live chat gets the quickest reply.

2

We move a copy

Your files, databases and mailboxes come over to our server and are tested there, while the old site carries on running.

3

You review it

A preview link lets you inspect the new copy. Your visitors see no change until you approve it.

4

Switch the domain

Change the nameservers yourself, or let us do it when the domain is registered with us. Every paid plan includes the move free.

What people in Nigeria ask us

Yes, with a Visa or Mastercard on Paystack's checkout. The charge is in Kenyan shillings and your bank converts it from naira or dollars. Some Nigerian banks limit naira cards for payments to companies abroad; if yours is declined, a dollar card often works, or ask us on live chat for bank transfer details. OPay, PalmPay, Moniepoint and USSD are not available at our checkout.

Yes. Both are in the table above with their register and renewal prices, and both register at checkout once the invoice is paid. You do not need to be in Nigeria or send documents; the registry, NiRA, may ask for proof of identity later. Check the renewal column as well as the first-year price.

No. Your site runs on our hosting server in the United Kingdom, and our team works in Nairobi. We do not print a speed figure for Lagos, because load time depends on each visitor's network. Our status page shows the live state of our website, the hosting server, mail and payments, checked every minute.

Yes. Lagos is two hours behind Nairobi, so most of your working day overlaps with ours. Live chat, email and tickets are answered by people, in English, and a ticket sent in the evening is waiting for us in the morning.

Yes, free on every plan. Tell us the domain and who hosts it now. We copy the files, databases and mailboxes to our server, you check a preview, and nothing changes for your visitors until you approve it.

Yes. Hosting, domains and email are our main products, and our website design service builds sites for businesses that have none, or whose old site is past saving. The hosting is the same either way.
