Reading your results

• TTFB (Time-to-First-Byte): the wait before the server begins to send anything. Below 200 ms is excellent, while more than a second points to a slow host or a backend that needs optimising.
• Connect time: how long the TCP handshake took. A high figure means network latency or a server that is slow to answer.
• TLS handshake: the time spent setting up SSL/TLS, normally 100 to 300 ms.
• Total time: the whole fetch from start to finish, with TLS, redirects and the content itself included.
• Download size: how many bytes came back. Aim for less than 2 MB on a marketing page, because anything above 5 MB makes for a poor experience on mobile.
