Thanks for choosing SiteBoma. Follow the steps below and, in most cases, you will go from your first login to a live website with SSL in less than 30 minutes.
1. Find your welcome email (2 min)
As soon as your payment goes through, we email you your DirectAdmin URL, username and password. Keep them somewhere secure; a password manager is the best place.
2. Sign in to DirectAdmin (1 min)
Paste the DirectAdmin URL into your browser and your hosting dashboard should open. Not seeing it? Look in your spam folder for the welcome email, or raise a support ticket.
3. Point your domain at us (5 min)
Registered your domain with SiteBoma? Then DNS is already handled and you can move on. If the domain sits with another registrar, log in there and change its nameservers to ns1.siteboma.co.ke and ns2.siteboma.co.ke.
4. Give DNS time to propagate (10 to 60 min)
A DNS change needs a little while to reach networks around the world. For most .co.ke names this takes about 15 minutes, though some extensions need as long as 24 hours.
5. Add WordPress or upload your files (5 min)
Inside DirectAdmin, open "Softaculous" or "Installatron" to put WordPress, Joomla or any of more than 400 apps on your site in one click. Already have a site? Upload its files through File Manager instead.
6. Let SSL switch itself on (2 min)
When your domain points at SiteBoma, we issue a free Let's Encrypt certificate automatically, normally within 5 to 10 minutes. Open https://yourdomain.co.ke and check that the padlock shows.
7. Set up your email addresses (5 min)
Go to DirectAdmin → "Email Accounts" → "Create Account". Choose a name such as info, give it a password and you are finished. You can read mail at yourdomain.co.ke/webmail.
