What you cannot host on SiteBoma

Our acceptable use rules in plain English: what gets a hosting account suspended, what is allowed in its place, and why it pays to ask us first.

Nearly everything is fine to run on SiteBoma. To keep the platform safe and quick for every customer, a few things are not:

  • Illegal content under Kenyan law. That includes, among other things, piracy, fraud, hate speech and material that harms minors.
  • Spam. Bulk email sent without proper opt-in is not allowed. Genuine newsletters and transactional email are fine; cold mass mailings are not.
  • Phishing & malware hosting. Accounts are suspended automatically within minutes of it being detected.
  • Resource abuse on shared hosting, such as crypto mining, CPU-heavy processes that run constantly in the background, or pirate file-sharing archives. Work like this belongs on a VPS or dedicated server, not on shared hosting.
  • Public proxies / VPN exit nodes. Permitted on a VPS that is configured appropriately, but never on shared hosting.
  • DDoS launch tools / booter sites. These lead to a permanent ban, and no refund is given.

Our full Acceptable Use Policy is part of the Terms of Service. If you are unsure about something, ask us before you try it. We would much rather talk it through than suspend an account.
